Instruction for contributors

Please read these instructions carefully before preparing your abstract. See also sample abstract

Formatting abstracts:

1. Page size: A4 (297 mm x 210 mm), vertical orientation (NB! do not use logo paper)
2. Margins: 25 mm top, left, right
3. Font: Times New Roman only (body text 12 point)
4. Font size:
• Paper title: 14 point
• Author name(s) and affiliation(s): 12 point
NB! a) Underline name of presenting author, b) Only one author can be listed as the primary presenter, c) All authors should be listed by their last name and initials (eg. Savolainen K, Moisio M), d) Affiliations should be listed using numbers in superscript (e.g. 1 Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, Helsinki, Finland).
• Body of abstract: 12 point
5. Layout: Single spaced
6. Alignment: justify
7. No. of words: 250 max. (excluding title, author, and affiliation). Note that longer abstracts will not be reviewed.
8. Do not include pictures, logos, figures or tables, nor references.
9. Do not use Greek characters or symbols; please spell them out, e.g. α = alpha, γ = gamma, μ = u.
10. Abstracts will be made available to conference participants as submitted to the Book of Abstracts— no editorial changes will be made.
11. Please remember that in addition to submitting an abstract by 16 March 2009, you must also register for the conference. Note that your abstract will only be published in the Book of Abstracts after we have received your payments accordingly.

 
Submitting abstracts:

1. The deadline for abstract submission is 16 March 2009 (NB! Extended until 23 March, at 9.00 the morning (Finnish time).
2. Applicants will be notified by e-mail as to whether their abstract was
accepted by 15 April 2009.
3. All abstracts must be submitted electronically as a Word document through
the abstract submission form 
4. Write and save your abstract on your own computer in Microsoft Word format according to the instructions. Abstracts should be submitted as Microsoft Word for Windows documents with a “.doc” extension. If this is not possible, save it as a Rich Text File (.rtf). The abstract should be saved using the filename “nanoeh2009_author’s surname” (eg.nanoeh2009_savolainen.doc).
5. Fill in the online abstract submission form and enclose the abstract in word format. You will find detailed instructions as to how to proceed on the submission form. Remember to choose the theme and mark whether you prefer an oral or poster presentation.
6. After the abstract submission, an automatic reply will be sent within 15 minutes to the e-mail address given on the form, confirming successful submission of the abstract.
7. Please post or fax a copy of the abstract to the organizers to: TAVI Congress Bureau, Papinkatu 21, FI-33200 Tampere, Finland, Fax. +358 3 233 0444.
8. Note that submitting an abstract represents a commitment to attend the NanOEH2009 Conference; you must register at the time you submit the abstract. Abstracts without a registered presenter will not be reviewed. NB! Registration payments must be made within few weeks after the letter of acceptance has been sent to the presenter in April 2009. Therefore when submitting your abstract and filling-in the online registration form, please also consider how you will make the registration payment in the begining of May.

 

Problems with submitting the abstract or receiving the confirmation?

If you are facing problems related to your submission, the following might help you:
- Kindly use other than Internet Explorer browser for your abstract submission if possible
- Please, close other running applications when submitting your abstract
- Remember to reattach your word document if you receive the 'Error on the form!' message.
- Your spam filter may think that the automatic abstract confirmation message is a junk mail. Please, check your junk mail box if you do not get the confirmation.

 
Acceptance:

The organizers reserve the right to accept or refuse an abstract, to designate
either oral or poster presentations, and to choose a suitable session for the abstract. The authors’ preference of oral or poster presentation and theme will be taken into account. Notice of acceptance will be e-mailed to the corresponding author by 15 April 2009.

 

Book of abstracts:

Abstracts will be made available to conference participants as submitted in the Book of Abstracts — no editorial changes will be made. Note that your abstract will only be published in the Book of Abstracts after we have received your  registration and payments accordingly.
