Instructions for using the site

The  new Internet home pages of FIOH were taken into use in June 2003. During the spring 2005 a new layout was developed and it was published in May 2005.

The Web site has a feedback form that you can use to give feedback about the content of the site.

Navigating on the Web site

The Web site is divided into the following main sections: Contact us; Organization; Thematic pages; Research; Information; Training; Services; and Advisory services. You can move from one main section to another by using the navigation buttons on the top of the page.  From the main page you can also navigate directly to the lower levels by using the drop down menu on the left hand side. The links to the text version, the Finnish and Swedish pages are found in the banner at the top of the page. The sitemap is on the bottom of the page, along with the instructions.

On the lower levels, the menus open up on the left hand side of the page. From all the sub-pages, you can also return back to the upper levels by using the links on the navigation path. The path is visible on each page, above the heading.

Search

In addition to the navigation menu, you can search for the information you need by using the quick search or advanced search function on the top banner of the page.

On the advanced search form, you can restrict the search by language, key word, document format and type, and by the date of updating.

The sitemap also provides an easy access to the information available. The link to the sitemap is on the bottom of the page.

Printing out Web pages

At the bottom of the each page there is a printout link. This link allows you to print the text content of the page without the navigation information and the graphics. If you want a printout of the entire page including the navigation information, you can use the printout command of your Internet browser.

Links on the home pages

The internal links on the FIOH web site open in the same browser window. Links to external sources open in a new browser window.
