Huomisen hoivatyö Innovations
In the Huomisen hoivatyö (Care Work of Tomorrow) Innovation Competition, organized as part of the research project The Future of Care Work (CAREFUTURE), participants were invited in spring 2026 to propose new ways of doing, organizing and leading care and nursing work. The competition sought solutions that had already been piloted or used on a small scale and had the potential for wider dissemination.
A total of 150 innovations were submitted to the competition. The evaluation panels selected 36 promising innovations for further research and development collaboration within the CAREFUTURE project. In addition, a panel composed of nursing and care students selected their three favourite innovations from among the candidates.
The competition included three categories: Employee-driven innovation, Citizen-driven innovation, and Technology-, policy- and organization-driven innovation. The selected innovations address themes such as everyday support, work organization, interaction, diversity, and digital and AI-based solutions.
The 36 selected innovations were recognized at the Huomisen hoivatyö event on 17 September 2026. However, the competition does not end there. Researchers in the CAREFUTURE project will support and study the development of these innovations throughout the project period until 2031. Around the innovations, co-creation networks will be established, bringing together researchers, societal actors, nursing and care students, and international experts.
