About the project
The aim of the Human-centric AI Actions at Workplaces project is to support workplaces in implementing artificial intelligence
The project will develop a user-friendly and scalable operational model that enables organizations to use generative artificial intelligence responsibly and in a way that supports employee well-being.
The project is implemented in collaboration with the Finnish Information Society Development Centre TIEKE, the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, Laurea University of Applied Sciences and Kajaani University of Applied Sciences.
Schedule
9/2025—8/2028
The project will proceed in three phases:
- Piloting (09/2025—08/2026): Testing the human-centric AI actions operational model in pilot organizations
- Expansion (09/2026—08/2027): Testing and finalizing the model developed based on the pilot in several organizations
- Deployment (09/2027—08/2028): Publication and wider dissemination of the operational model
Target groups
In particular, the project supports micro and SME companies, public parties and NGOs that use or are considering the deployment of artificial intelligence. Target groups include organizations' employees, supervisors and management.
What will we do during the project?
- In the pilot phase, we will test and develop the operational model in the pilot organizations participating in the project. We offer support to the organizations before, during and after AI experiments. We prepare and pilot tools to support the operational model.
- In the expansion phase, we will introduce the operational model to several organizations that will implement an AI experimentation process in accordance with the model. We will finalize the model and the tools and services to support its wider deployment.
- In the deployment phase, we will publish the finalized operational model and promote its wider deployment via networks and partners. We will also provide support to the organizations involved in the deployment phase in their independent deployment of the model.
Data and methods
The data consists of artificial intelligence experiments carried out at workplaces and related interviews, surveys and workshops. They are used to survey organizations' current state, development needs and the possibilities of using artificial intelligence.
We will make use of service design and the Realist Evaluation approach in implementing the project.
- Service design provides a user-oriented perspective to the development and supports the planning of concrete solutions in collaboration with workplaces.
- The Realist Evaluation methodology utilizes interviews and analysis to find out what works, for whom and under what circumstances in implementing generative artificial intelligence in workplaces.
Results and impact
Workplaces will receive a concrete operational model for making use of generative artificial intelligence. The model takes into account the aspects of productivity, the smooth flow of work, occupational safety and well-being at work. It enables agile artificial intelligence experiments, monitoring their impact and the establishment of practices.
Key outputs
- The human-centric AI actions operational model
