Chemicals at work online training course
The cornerstone of chemical safety in the workplace is adequate and appropriate chemical information, as well as the ability to interpret this information. The online training provides a good foundation for the safe use of chemicals at work. The shared knowledge and language help to simplify the seemingly complex assessment of chemical risks and make the collaboration for risk management easier. With increased expertise, the management of chemical risks improves and exposure decreases.
Course objectives
The training supports the safe use of chemicals at the workplace by
- making the chemical risk assessment easier
- supporting the co-operation in chemical risk management
- helping to prevent chemical exposure
- clarifying the roles and responsibilities in chemical risk management
Description
The online training consists of five sections:
- What chemical?
- Hazardous properties
- Interpreting safety data sheets
- Regulation and responsibilities
- Safety and protection
In addition to these, the participant will complete Tasks for application. The online training can be studied at your own pace during a 2 month study period. The training takes about 5 hours of study. The knowledge gained can be easily applied in practical everyday work at the workplace.
For whom
The online training is suitable for everyone with a role in chemical safety practices at the workplace, such as supervisors, occupational safety personnel, persons in charge of purchases and occupational health personnel. In companies that use a lot of chemicals, the online training is also suitable for the entire staff.
To make the most out of the training, we recommend that the work community completes it together. The online training can also be tailored or supplemented as needed, for example, through webinars or workshops.
