Project

Engaging workplaces in the green transition (TYVI)

The green transition requires changes in companies’ business models, products and services as well as in production and work processes. In this project, we support management and personnel to jointly develop sustainable operations and develop their sustainability expertise.

Objectives

We are  approaching the limits of the environment's carrying capacity and we need a more sustainable economy. The green transition is based on low-carbon solutions, a circular economy and the sustainable use of natural resources. Implementing it requires concrete changes in companies' operating models, processes and daily practices. That is why it is essential for workplaces to participate also.

In the TYVI project, we help workplaces take an active role in promoting the green transition.

The objective of the project is to accelerate the green transition in workplaces by supporting joint development measures by management and personnel. The development work may include renewing and implementing strategies, goals, operating models and practices that support sustainable development.  At the same time, well-being at work and the smooth flow of work should be promoted as well.

Target sectors for the project include construction, transport and logistics as well as education.

At the workplaces participating in the project, management and personnel will

  • examine the green transition goals and daily practices of their own workplace
  • promote green transition competence by utilising the informational bulletins and new perspectives that the project offers
  • draw up a green transition action plan and implement concrete experiments to promote the green transition.

Based on the workplaces' experiences and examples, we will produce a guide for speeding up the green transition. The guide will provide support for joint development work between management and personnel.

In addition, we will organise workshops with labour market organisations, trade associations and training organisations. The workshops will focus on examining industry-specific challenges to the green transition and assessing the ways in which the solutions developed can be applied and disseminated.

Results and impact

The project produces knowledge and concrete examples of how the green transition can be promoted in workplaces by means of joint development by management and personnel.

The produced results include:

  • facts and webinars on green transition themes
  • A guide to speeding up the green transition.

With the help of project implementers and stakeholders, we will disseminate the results widely for the use of workplaces and various parties working in work life development.

Join the TYVI project!

We are looking for workplaces that want to strengthen competence in the green transition and develop more sustainable operating methods in collaboration between the management and employees. The project examines current operating methods, identifies areas for development and tests new solutions.
