Work Ability Management Overview for large workplaces

The Work Ability Management Overview survey provides an overview of the current state of work ability management and helps identify development needs. The survey is intended for large and medium-sized workplaces or units. The survey contains statements about the strategic nature of work ability management, knowledge-based management, operational models and implementation, flow of information and co-operation, and organizational culture.

Duration: Responding to the survey 10 minutes.
Contents: A total of 38 questions on five areas of work ability management. The result consists of responses from at least 10 respondents. The contact person of the organization will share the survey link to the respondents.
Result: A traffic light assessment about work ability management and means for its development.

  • For whom? 
    In medium-sized workplaces, it is advisable to conduct survey at the entire workplace, and in large workplaces in one unit, such as a profit centre, department, or service line at a time. The survey is aimed at management, supervisors, HR management, occupational safety and health, and shop stewards.
  • Benefits?
    The Work Ability Management Overview tool helps to identify and prioritize development areas in work ability management. The tool provides method cards to support development.

What is work ability management?

Work ability management is an activity aimed at goals in line with the organization's strategy. It includes measures to promote and maintain the work ability of personnel, to promote the fluency and success of work, and to support extending work careers, in co-operation with other related actors.

This is how you can use the Work Ability Management Overview tool

  1. Select a contact person who orders the survey and report links to their email and sends the survey link to the selected respondents.
  2. The respondents will respond to the survey independently within 21 days.
  3. The contact person reviews the results and downloads a summary of the results and downloads also method cards to support development.
  4. Based on the results, you can identify development needs and plan measures using the method cards.
  5. Agree on how to carry out the development: schedule and responsible persons for measures and follow-up and evaluation.

What do the survey and report look like?

The 38 questions in the survey are divided into five areas of work ability management. The survey requires at least ten responses to form an overview of the work ability management.

Statements related to work ability management and response options on a scale of I completely agree or I completely disagree.

The report shows the averages for the various areas and per-question averages. The report page will work for 60 days from the time the links were ordered. The results are available for download in PowerPoint format.
